We’re hanging out in a cathedral of outdoor adventure sports just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. If you’re looking for a place to beat the winter blues and pack in some adrenaline while you’re at it, then it’s time to head to The Riveter.
Located in Mills River, this place has a little bit of everything for those oh-so-Asheville people in your life. Climbing, a bike park, a yoga studio, and of course a tap room… The Riveter is an inclusive and respect-filled destination for the outdoor community.
The world-class climbing gym boasts over 16,000 square feet of climbing terrain. And they have something for every level of climber. But you can test yourself with some pretty amazing challenges – all in an environment that is created with support and inclusivity in mind. This is one of the best climbing gyms you’ll find anywhere and it’s as tough as they come – but as a place itself this is friendly and accessible.
The name “Riveter” is really a symbolic choice. It represents the strong community bonds they’re trying to form here in a really unifying way.
Here within this same campus you’ll also find their incredible bike park. This has different lines almost like a ski slope from green to double black. With rollers, berms, gap jumps, table tops, and a series of progressive bridges, this terrain is the perfect spot for any rider trying to progress their skills on the bike.
It’s a lot of fun to take on a new challenge, but they have some entry-level pump lines here that are great for those of us just starting out.
In addition to the adrenaline pumping activities of biking and climbing, they also offer yoga classes here, and fitness classes as well. And when you’ve reached the end of your day’s activities, the taproom here at the Riveter is a great place to continue building community in a more laid back environment. This entire place is a world-class facility for the outdoor community to train, play, and pursue their dreams. And have a lot of fun along the way.
