This episode of the show is all about Joe, Java, that wakey-wakey juice that helps so many of us shake off our slumber grasping that ceramic savior, travel mug, paper cup, or pottery pal containing that all important elixir of life… coffee.
This is Dynamite Roasting Company. Located in Black Mountain, North Carolina – just up the road from Ingles’ corporate headquarters, these guys got their start back in 2008 when a couple of local musicians decided to orchestrate an artisan coffee company with a bigger mission than just that of helping folks get their morning buzz.
These guys provide a fair and living wage to farmers, putting back as much goodness as they take from the soil. Dynamite works closely with their partners and growers to ensure the very best quality beans at a great price for all of us.
These close relationships also allow them to make sure they’re benefiting the communities that grow their coffee, paying their farmers a premium that rewards the extra effort it takes to grow some of the finest organic coffees available.
Today, Dynamite is fueling the start to a lot of people’s day. Here in their Swannanoa roastery, they roast over 20,000 pounds of coffee a month. And fueling this facility are 156 solar panels – furthering their commitment to sustainability, and their ability to sustain us with a whole lot of coffee.
The café has solar too and they have awesome pastries, an awesome vinyl collection, coffee, and even a coffee vending machine.
Dynamite provides an excellent venue to slow down, sip, and enjoy. That’s what it’s all about here. It’s enjoying community… a commitment to doing things the right way… and supporting local – kind of like Ingles, where you can buy this awesome coffee for yourself.
