Today, we’re visiting a beautiful small southern town on the banks of the French Broad River that is famous for amazing arts and crafts, a fantastic food scene, and a whole lot of fun. It’s a town that allows all of us to say, howdy Marshall.
Marshall, North Carolina, is located about half an hour north of Asheville. It’s the seat of Madison County and was one of the hardest hit towns during Hurricane Helene. But today, Marshall is on the comeback trail, and we’re here to take in a few highlights in this place that is famously called a block wide and a mile long.
We’re starting things off at Flow Gallery. Originally opened in 2010, today this place features the work of almost 70 artists who call Western North Carolina home.
These artists include potters, woodworkers, glass artists, fiber artists, painters, print makers, jewelers, and more. This is a beautiful space to experience amazing works of art, perfect for that next adornment for your home or your loved ones.
This is Mad Co. Brew House. It features beautiful views, delicious brews, and amazing food cooked up in Marshall Pizza Kitchen. Whether you’re taking in the vibes of the awesome interior spaces or enjoying al fresco, this is a great spot to kick back with friends and family.
For our final stop in downtown Marshall, it’s time to go feel like a kid again at Main Street Comics and Games.
This place is the hub for comics, graphic novels, and trade paperbacks. But it’s more than a store – it’s a community destination with tons of great games and events. It’s a cool, cozy spot to bring people together for fun in the mountains.
And that’s kind of Marshall in a nutshell – a little quirky, community focused, and ready for you to come say howdy.
