The sun is shining, the water is sparkling, and I couldn’t be happier to be back at one of the most beautiful places in America: Lake Lure. This is a destination that was dealt a mighty blow when Hurricane Helene came through in 2024. And today we’re excited to show off its incredible comeback.

Located about 45 minutes east of Asheville, Lake Lure is a sight to behold. It was created a hundred years ago to be the preeminent resort destination in the United States – and with emerald waters and soaring mountains that stir up visions of Lake Geneva and Lake Como, it is spectacular.

We’re getting out on the water today thanks to Lake Lure Adventure Company. From kayaks and paddleboards to big fun like skiing and tubing, these guys are your go-to operation for living large on Lake Lure. This family business got its start in 1999, and ever since then they’ve been showing folks a good time here on this green, gorgeous paradise.

Lake Lure isn’t huge, but at 880 acres it’s big enough for all the boating activities you want. It’s intimate enough to paddle and enjoy as well. And it has some great spots to visit at various points along the shore.

It’s taken a lot of hard work to get this North Carolina treasure back to welcome visitors again. And I’m thrilled to tell you the sounds of splashing, laughter, boats, and lakeside tunes have returned. And it’s time you did too.

Here at Lake Lure, life is good. Rent a boat, spend some time at the beach, stroll through the park, and bask in the beauty of this place. Lake Lure is alive and well – ready and waiting for you.
