Nestled on an enchanting 180 acre campus just outside the beautiful downtown of Brevard, North Carolina, this mecca of music has been going strong since the 1930s – and it’s not slowing down any time soon.
Every summer the Brevard Music Center plays host to its famous summer music festival – where a diversity of genres and plethora of talent take center stage for the enjoyment of the masses.
More than 80 concerts take place throughout the summer – some of which are free and open to the public. Legendary performers have graced this stage spanning the styles of folk, jazz, classical, bluegrass, and more.
You cannot beat the ambiance. Guests are welcome to bring a pre-concert picnic to enjoy here on the lawn and bask in the beauty of these beautiful grounds. And the visitors are not the only ones who get something out of this experience. There’s a whole lot of learning taking place here as well.
Almost a thousand gifted students and participants come to the Music Center each summer from all over the world to study with distinguished faculty and renowned guest artists. From June through August, students participate in a rigorous program of instruction and performance including orchestral ensembles, private lessons, chamber music, opera, classical guitar, bluegrass, and jazz.
All of this creates a powerful sense of community among all of these talented artists, and the patrons as well. When you’re here, you know you are a part of something special and beautiful.
