Today we’re visiting a heavenly destination with a name more reminiscent of the other place, as we explore the many wonders of Devils Fork State Park.

Located in the Upstate of South Carolina near the North Carolina border, Devils Fork became a state park in 1990. And it’s one of the most beautiful state parks anywhere on the east coast – thanks to the dynamic terrain of the Blue Ridge mountains… and sparkling Lake Jocassee.

We’re getting a tour of the lake today with Eclectic Sun, where you can reserve kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and pontoon boats. Their 3-hour waterfall tours of Jocassee are a gorgeous way to see the lake and take in the amazing scenery.

There’s something uniquely beautiful about a mountain lake. This one is over 7,500 acres and is surrounded almost entirely by undeveloped land – putting you in the heart of breathtaking wilderness just a short drive from Greenville and Asheville.

Back on land, the offerings of Devils Fork State Park take center stage. The Oconee Bell Nature Trail is an easy 1-mile loop trail that received its name for the rare wildflower that can be found along the footpath. And one of the biggest draws of the park are its outstanding overnight options.

There are 20 fully furnished villas here with two and three bedroom options available. And there are 2 campgrounds here as well – with something for everyone; from RV’s to tent sites with water and electricity, picnic table and fire ring, to rustic sites too.

Whether you’re here pursuing some of the best trout fishing in South Carolina… kicking back and relaxing at one of the amazing sites for R&R… hiking the lovely trails… or cruising the sparkling blue waters… there’s something for everyone here at Devils Fork State Park.
