Today, we’re in prime staycation mode, taking in all the fun of a fantastic road trip, with all the comforts of letting somebody else park the trailer. If you’re ready for a retro getaway in a glorious corner of the mountains, this is the place for you.

Welcome to JuneBug Retro Resort. Just a quick cruise up from Asheville, this is a boutique hotel that defies definition. It’s quirky, comfortable, and quintessentially WNC.

In short, it’s a 10-room motel made up of restored 1950s and ’60s trailers. But it’s so much more than that – as you shall see. But first up, we gotta tour some of these cool campers.

There’s the 1953 Royal Spartanette with its sleek aluminum shell and warm wood-paneled interior.

There’s the 1963 Shasta Astrodome that feels like something straight out of Yogi Bear.

And there’s the 1950 Spartan Tandem that looks like Bing Crosby and Bob Hope might step out in one of their classic Road films.

That’s just a sampling of the whole host of campers here for your enjoyment. But it’s not all just about a place to rest your head. There’s a lot more fun to be had on the property.

You don’t have to stay here to come and have a good time (although let’s be honest, an overnight needs to be on your agenda). There’s also the Creek Lounge that’s open to all – an outdoor listening room that is one of the best places for live music you’ll find anywhere.

The beautiful Flat Creek runs right through the venue. You can belly up to the 1960 Airstream Bar (of course, it’s in a trailer too)… enjoy rotating food trucks… and soak in some good tunes in a great setting.

There’s also the happy herd of alpacas… the flower field… shitake hollar… and the amazing tree house. It’s a retreat built for joy and enjoyment – here at JuneBug Retro Resort.
